Research Description
Genomics and proteomics of the airway epithelium of individuals at risk for developing lung cancer. The primary goal is early detection of lung cancer by understanding the molecular underpinnings of lung cancer development. Current projects include
1) Epigenetic reprogramming by whole genome sequencing of cells obtained from bronchial brushings specimens,
2) Identifying single nucleotide variants causing genomic instability and ultimately malignant transformation, and
3) Metabolic reprogramming and tumorigenicity of genetically modified human bronchial epithelial cell lines.
