Available Postdoctoral Position Details
Posted: 7/26/2018

Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony Daniels in the Department of Ophthalmology and the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The laboratory is nurturing, hard working and fast-paced, and the successful postdocs will find flexibility to pursue their exciting ideas with quite a bit of independence. Both positions already have full funding and are available immediately.

Postdoctoral Position #1: We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with extensive experience working with mouse models, and in particular, experience with injection or microdissection of mouse eyes. The successful candidate would balance two projects using mouse models of disease and treatment. One project is related to the intrinsic biology of ocular cancers and the other project is related to drug discovery for the treatment of ocular cancer.

Postdoctoral Position #2: We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with experience in molecular, cell, or developmental biology. The project involves utilizing extensive multi-institutional data on genotype-phenotype correlations in eye cancers as well as data on proteomic networks. The successful candidate will design and implement experiments that assess the effect of specific cellular pathways on tumor cell behavior.

Both successful candidates must have a PhD in Biological Sciences or the equivalent with at least one first-author publication from their graduate work and strong research background in molecular, cell or developmental biology. Candidates with less than 2 years of postgraduate work are specifically encouraged to apply. To apply, email a brief cover letter describing research accomplishments and future research goals, current CV with list of publications, and contact information for 3 professional references to: Please specify which one of the two positions you are applying for.

Due to restrictions related to federal funding, applicants must either be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) at the time they apply. Please confirm this in your application email.
