Research Description
Dr. Jonathan A. Kropski received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in 2004 and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2008. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Vanderbilt through the ABIM PSTP Program. He is the Elsa S. Hanigan Chair in Medicine, Professor of Medicine and Cell/Developmental Biology and Director of the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He leads a translational research program investigating disease mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis and lung injury-repair. His laboratory focuses on molecular control of mechanisms that drive chronic lung disease initiation, integrating single-cell biology, transgenic animal and ex-vivo models to investigate the pathogenesis of these disorders.
Clinical Description
Dr. Jonathan Kropski is an adult Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician-Scientist. His clinical practice focuses on the treatment of patients with interestitial lung diseases. He also attends in the Medical ICU and on the Pulmonary Consult and inpatient Pulmonary services.
