The [Department of Biostatistics](https://www.vumc.org/biostatistics/) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral position in biomedical data science to join [Dr. Amir Asiaee's research group](https://amirasiaee.com/).


This position is mainly focused on [the Causal Effect Estimation of Regulatory Molecules](https://reporter.nih.gov/search/M1f-DtwIu0yeNxZ3oQNVaw/project-details/10455118); however, the postdoctoral fellow will have the flexibility to participate in other [projects of AA Lab](https://www.amirasiaee.com/research/) or pursue projects broadly in biomedical data science. The three key skills required for these projects are statistics, programming, and a basic understanding of genetics. If you are experienced in two of these areas and interested in the third, please consider applying. The position is available immediately, will remain open until filled, and is funded for up to 3 years.


Dr. Asiaee's research focuses on the applications of machine learning and causal inference/discovery methods in biomedicine. His research group is also focused on open science, reproducibility, and collaborative work with clinicians. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in computational biology, computer science, bio/statistics, bioinformatics, or related fields.
